RIE PARENTING (MY FAVORITE!)

I love learning about anything and everything with parenting. A lot, and I would say most, of my parenting style comes from RIE Parenting (Resources for Infant Educarers) which Janet Lansbury uses as the basis of her teachings and philosophies.
I can't remember when I first learned about Janet, but it was when Lincoln was little and I must have stumbled upon her blog from Facebook. Everything I read, I loved and knew this is what I wanted to learn more of and use for my own family.
Janet's blog states, "RIE parenting could be summed up as an awareness of our babies. We perceive and acknowledge them to be unique, separate people. We enhance our awareness by observing them — allowing them the bit of space they need to show us who they are and what they need."
I love how she talks about babies as a whole, complete person, respecting them and their wants and needs. They are fully capable little people who need our help!
To this day I listen and re-listen to her book No Bad Kids: Toddler Discipline Without Shame. It was a game changer for me! It is very different then the "normal" parenting of discipling, being firm/harsh, and spanking. I'm definitely a better mom after I listen to that book.

I look forward to sharing one of my biggest passions with you and hopefully help you in your parenting journey because it's the best! Those kids deserve all the love and attention from you and you deserve all the love, attention AND space when you need it! ;)
Thanks for reading!
xoxo
